I'm Mateo — a Puerto Rican DJ from Brooklyn, New York, bringing a world of experience to Fiji's dance floors.

With more than 15 years behind the decks, my journey has taken me from New York to New Zealand and Fiji, through nightclubs, cruise ships, weddings, resorts and corporate celebrations. As an official DJ and resident guest entertainer with Princess Cruises, I played for international audiences at sea — an experience that taught me how to connect with different cultures, generations and tastes through music.

Along the way, I've performed alongside Jay Sean, VT1S, King Kapisi and George “Fiji” Veikoso, been featured on MTV, and performed as part of the Black Caps halftime show at Eden Park. From a stadium to a private celebration, I bring that experience to every set.

My roots are in hip-hop, R&B and reggaeton, but my sets move well beyond one genre. Think dancehall, soca, Afrobeats, house, commercial hits and the throwbacks everyone knows — blended around the people in front of me. Open format means knowing when to switch it up, when to let a favourite breathe and when to lift the energy.

Now based in Fiji, I bring that approach to destination weddings, island sessions, corporate events and private parties. We'll talk about your music, your guests and the moments that matter, then build a soundtrack that feels like your celebration.
